Samsung Unveils Impressive Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 Smartphones in Galaxy Unpacked Event

Samsung has today launched its 2 latest smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5, in the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event. Both of these phones come with impressive specs. Let’s take a look at the specifications and pricing of these two phones.

Notable points:

  • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 are successors to the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4 from last year.
  • Both phones use Samsung’s new Flex Hinge, a dual rail design that eliminates the gap when the phone is folded.
  • Both phones are equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.
  • The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 has a 3700mAh battery, while the Galaxy Z Fold 5 comes with a larger 4400mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 Specifications:

  • The phone features a 6.70-inch foldable Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. The display has a peak brightness of 1200 nits and an aspect ratio of 22:9. Additionally, it has a 3.4-inch Super AMOLED cover display with a resolution of 720 × 748 pixels.
  • The phone weighs 187g and has dimensions of 165.1×71.9×6.9mm. It is IPX8 water-resistant (up to 1.5m for 30 minutes) and has an armor aluminum frame with scratch resistance. The display and rear glass are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The phone is available in 4 colors: Mint, Graphite, Cream, and Lavender.
  • The device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC with a 4nm fabrication process and Adreno 740 GPU. It runs on One UI 5.1.1 based on Android 13.

  • The phone has a 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X cover display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. When unfolded, it features a 7.6-inch foldable Dynamic AMOLED 2X display that supports HDR10+ and 120Hz refresh rate.
  • It weighs 253g and has dimensions of 154.9 x 129.9 x 6.1 mm (unfolded) and 154.9 x 67.1 x 13.4 mm (folded). It is also IPX8 water-resistant (up to 1.5m for 30 minutes). The phone is available in five colors: Icy Blue, Phantom Black, Cream, Blue, and Gray.

Pricing and Availability:

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 with 8GB+256GB model is priced at $999.99 (around ₹82,000), and the 8GB+512GB model is priced at $1,199 (around ₹98,000). The phone will be available in selected global markets from August 11th.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 with 12GB+256GB model is priced at $1,799 (around ₹1,47,000), the 12GB+512GB model is priced at $1,919 (around ₹1,57,000), and the 12GB+1TB model is priced at $2,159 (around ₹1,77,000). It will also be available in selected global markets from August 11th, with pre-bookings already started.
