We are soon going to get a glimpse of the iPhone 15 series. In this series, Apple’s latest A17 Bionic chip is expected, and there’s speculation that we might even see RAM options up to 8GB this time. For now, these are just rumors, and the full details will likely be revealed next month in September when Apple launches the iPhone 15 series.

Notable Points:

  • The iPhone 15 series could be launched on September 12th or 13th.
  • There’s a good chance that the Pro models of this series will feature the A17 Bionic chipset.
  • This time, we might have the option of an 8GB RAM variant.

So far, we haven’t seen an 8GB RAM variant in iPhones. Only variants with up to 6GB of RAM have been available. However, it now seems that we might see an 8GB RAM option in an iPhone for the first time. Tipster @URedditor has suggested on their X account that an iPhone with 8GB of RAM could be available this time.

According to this post, Apple was testing both 6GB and 8GB RAM configurations on the A17 Bionic chipset. The choice of RAM seems to depend on storage. This increases the likelihood of an iPhone with 8GB of RAM being launched. Even if that happens, we might only see this variant in the Pro models, namely the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, as these are the two models that will come with the A17 Bionic chip. The other models will likely have the A16 Bionic chipset.

Tipster @URedditor had previously mentioned that the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max could feature LPDDR5 RAM, which could be supplied by Samsung or Micron. Currently, this cannot be confirmed until Apple itself provides more information. However, we hope that this time we’ll get to see 8GB of RAM in the iPhone, as Apple has been stuck with 6GB of RAM since the iPhone 12 Pro. The iPhone 15 series could be launched on September 12th or 13th.
